Lorrain Allen, aka Trigger Queen, wrote her first book, The Fox and the Box, at just six years old for a class assignment—and never looked back. In middle school, she joined the poetry club and competed in several poetry slams, further fueling her lifelong love of storytelling. As a young adult, she became a full-fledged romance book junkie. That obsession eventually led her to dark romance, where she discovered a passion for the darker, more twisted side of love.

Noticing the lack of dark romance novels centered around women of color, and inspired by the many creative authors she admired, Lorrain decided to write the kind of stories she wanted to read. While she plans to explore other romance subgenres, her primary focus remains nontraditio ...more
