What I love in books: great characters, us-against-the-world love stories, well researched historical novels, big men being vulnerable, love so great it will change you forever, witty elegant prose, but also good smut

What I love in life: pink, food, books, writing, arguing, Greek, ancient history, teaching, and I'm totally obsessed with my kid.

I am on GR as a reader and reviewer. I read mostly in English, but I have written a few novels in Italian. Still, my presence on GR is exclusively that of a reader. Cheers! xx

Really cute. 3 for the first half, a solid 4 for the latter one. Well written as it is solid, with good characters, doesn't sound chatbotty and has reasonable speech and dialogue. Lovely coming of age story.

I loved this one as well. Less polished than Lucky Bounce - understandably, as this is Nary's debut. But still amazing. The slowest of slow burn, which I usually don't particularly like (I'm a sex first love after kinda gal), but Benji and Olly's fri ...more

Marguerite Yourcenar, Memoirs of Hadrian

“But what he hadn’t expected was that when everyone feared him and flattered him, Lan WangJi scolded him right in his face; when everyone spurned him and loathed him, Lan WangJi stood by his side.”
