Writer and broadcaster from Scotland.

Love love love books.
Left school at 16 and attended the University of life, worked in London, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Spain working in many different areas, which eventually led me to radio and TV presenting. During this whole time I wrote a daily diary and always harboured an ambition to be a writer.

My first book was an autobiographical account of becoming a Mum, laid the foundation of thinking...hmmmnnn maybe one day I could write fiction and finally in 2019 my dream came true.

Even for 10 minutes. It is an itch that needs to be scratched and a skill, like any other, that can be learned with diligence and consistency. I left school with no qualifications but loved reading and always wanted to write. Read read read. Read books in the genre you want to write in, and also read everything you can about writing. Inspiration for the series came from a love of Scotland, the rural wilderness and the drama of the coast, delicious food, romance, humour, restaurants sausage dogs all of which I explore through a cast of characters who I hope are flawed yet engaging enough to care about. My protagonist Maddy Campbell is based on a younger version of me and the sausage dog Frank on my current 4 legged pal, Charlie Chorizo, sausage dog of love...as I like to call him. (less)

Song for Boris. Go Boris Go.

My Mum died on April 9th last year in a Care Home. I couldn’t visit her for months, she had dementia and by the time I was allowed to see her for one hour a week she had deteriorated to such an extent that she no longer knew who I was, where she was or what on earth was going on. It was heartbreaking. I don’t blame Boris for Covid, but his double standards of don’t do as I do, do as I tell you is
