This family was fairly new to the community and didn’t mix with others much. To this day no one has ever been able to understand why this happened. At the time it was a terrible shock. SHE WAKES AND REMEMBERS.

Trembling,

she parts the heavy curtains.

Fog has crept in.

The gunmetal ocean across the lane

is obscured in a sombre mist.

She slips on her boots, her coat.
