Jason Harrington, here. Full time production worker in airbag assembly, part time indie dark fantasy horror writer and destroyer of worlds!
If three words could be used to describe me it's "crazed imaginative geek", and proud of it. I was born in bountiful Utah, where I made imaginary friends so cool that they got taken by younger kids. If you take an imagination like that, in a limited environment like school, and then say "write whatever you want", you are no longer to be held responsible for the grinning caveman with fingerpaint that has been unleashed.I have loved fantasy since heroquest and final fantasy, reading it since choose your own adventure, Shannara and Earthsea. I have loved horror since poltergeist, and talking my mom into let

But at about 20 years old, being a fan of the first Mortal Kombat movie, I started wondering "why keep to any rigid rules about fantasy? Why not just cut loose and throw down the gauntlets like Mortal Kombat?" I was too hot headed at the time, so it was very two dimensional then, but I got older and learned, so the story evolved with it.
In the end, though, the books are my fantasy horror tribute to geekdom. Things like star wars, magic the gathering, heroquest and dnd, are only naming a few of the things that gave me an outlet, and welcomed me without question. The books are my gift to them for giving a place to play for a knucklehead with an over active imagination that never stops.
That, and it's a million volts of invigorating fun to write and share it.(less)
Jason Harrington I have. I got a little sidetracked, but I will finish reading it.

I'll have to do more

After only the first day of the giveaway, I am really surprised. Being a full time production worker, I haven't had the means to try this way out until now. Seeing as it looks like a great way to let readers know about my books, I'll have to do this with the rest of my trilogy, and the books yet to come. (I'm currently writing the first book of the sequel series to Destiny of the Void Triangle). T Read more of this blog post »

The Sword of the Void Slayer by Jason Harrington
"What an epic ride! I couldn’t stop listening to Mason Hamilton’s narration so powerful, so full of emotion. Every chapter felt like standing on the edge of creation itself."

Stephen Blumberg
“streams surged and pulsed into the clouds and the clouds became even darker. Lightning escaped, striking the sea, followed by a deafening thunderclap. Black tendrils shot forth from the clouds, slithering their way down all over the island. Rig looked towards the market, seeing that everyone had stopped to behold the spectacle. One of these tendrils entered the ground only steps from Rig. The earth became blackened like soot and a granular substance flowed up from the spot. Rig backed away.”

Stephen Blumberg
“Ilohir,” he began. “Your aura shines brilliantly in the vision of the Ethereal Eye. There were two of you on this island. You fight like a mortal. Do you not know the abilities you possess?” His tone was that of genuine curiosity. Rig did not answer right away; he was confused. By Rig’s expression, the man had his answer. “I know nothing of what you speak!” Rig shouted. “Who are you and why do you attack this place?” “You are one of a dwindling lineage and you are not even aware! How can this be? Has it been kept from you your entire life?” The man was quiet for a moment as if figuring it out. “One of your parents was mortal… They hid it from you.”
Stephen Blumberg, The Eldritch Tome: Volume I

Stephen Blumberg
“the disguise of an impoverished vagabond, he would travel the world placing wagers and playing games of chance. He knew the inner workings of the mind and the natural world and used this to his advantage. He would drink, but he would never get drunk and this would lower his opponent’s guard. He would kill anyone who dared call him a cheat or refused to pay. He relished the chance to duel and shed blood and he wielded a different weapon every time he came to a new city.”
Stephen Blumberg, The Eldritch Tome: Volume I

Stephen Blumberg
“Rig inspected it close-up, amazed with its size and thickness. The blade itself was as tall as he. Tightly wrapped around the hilt was a jet black leather. The end of the hilt was wrought into a half rounded octagonal piece of steel, slotted for the leather to weave through. The sword possessed a steel crossguard, shaped artistically to flare out on either side. These bore runic symbols. A black oxidized etching ran along the guard and branched off symmetrically on either side. The flanged ends of the cross guards were worked around the etching, embellishing it with pleasant angles.”

Stephen Blumberg
“A combination of materials that resonate at certain frequencies combined with a large amount of magical energy and a prism as a means to infuse them. It is pretty simple in practice. I infused this weapon during the smelting process; a technique many don't think to do… Or simply are unable to execute… as you can see with the crystal above and the lenses. This is not common in Eriand. Also, white flame born from pure arcane combustion is the primary means of heating as opposed to traditional coal or wood fires.”
