Chores, schooling my children, reading another book, watching a show, taking a walk, gardening - and once I take the mental break, the inspiration starts flowing again. Whether it is memoir or fiction or whatever - the message you convey to readers stays with them long after they close the book. There is power in words, especially words that create feelings.
