Dr. Philip Loring is a widely respected anthropologist, ecologist, and award-winning writer. His work focuses on the intersection of sustainability, food systems, and social justice, and he is particularly interested in solutions where people and ecosystems thrive together. Philip A. Loring Just do it, and start by calling yourself a writer. You don't have to be published to be a writer. Also, don't worry about if whatever you are working…moreJust do it, and start by calling yourself a writer. You don't have to be published to be a writer. Also, don't worry about if whatever you are working on right now is good enough. Don't think about your audience, at least not at first. Approach it like a habit, a routine. Write every day, even if only 50 words in a notepad. There is no secret knowledge associated with being a good writer, only empathy, artistry, and practice.

And read. Read as much as you have time to. (less)
