I have independently published four books. I love to read crime thrillers from the criminals point of view (not a fan of detective novels) so to write a trilogy about a fictional mafia family seemed the perfect option. I have also just (March '24) published my first children's book under my married name, Wendy Maynard.

I live in Cornwall, UK, with my husband and doglet.

I used to love to travel the world but now prefer to stay closer to home - we have such a beautiful country so why not?

I am also a qualified proofreader and editor

He tracked us all down a few years ago and it was quite a revelation, so this could be a great story; who is his dad? what were the circumstances around his birth? What heartbreak my much-loved Nan had had to carry around with her for all her life. I would love to one day find the time to write a story based loosely on this(less)

A good story

This is the first book of Heather Atkinson's that I have read and I really liked the story and the characters. I felt the book was rushed in places and a few inconsistencies, but overall, very cleverly done and an enjoyable read.

Well written

Good story overall, even though it did seem a little rushed towards a hasty end but enjoyable overall. Would recommend

Eye opening

A truly eye opening account of the issues young people experience, wonderfully and very well written and the subject matters is well explored.
