Courtnee Turner is the award-winning, multi-genre author of My Brother's Keeper, Solomon's Tears, and Rasputin's Scorn, in addition to several short stories that have been anthologized. Readers have recently been impressed with The Secrets of Copperheads and Fireflies and The Tears in the Water.
The culture and views of her Tennessee home have forced her to find her own perspective. While she may embrace the traditions of her area, she has set non-negotiable boundaries, especially against sweet tea and unannounced visitors. Hello, Rodney Tripp! Thank you for your questions!
No, I do not write explicit language into my stories. Many of my books have paranormal elements, but My Brother’s Keeper, Pinky Swear, and Rasputin’s Scorn are the best titles to give to children in the twelve- to seventeen-year-old range. My Brother’s Keeper and Pinky Swear are available now, and Rasputin’s Scorn may be preordered for a reduced price on Amazon. It releases on June first of this year. The title and cover appear dark, but the story is a little lighter than it seems. The effects of drugs and child abuse are discussed, but children do NOT take drugs in my book.
My Brother’s Keeper just won several awards, so it may be the best story for a teenager. Teens, young adults, and experienced readers have told me that they enjoyed the story.
Cascade will be available in October of this year, and it is a great story for teens.
Finding Emma does not contain cursing, but some adult themes, like infant loss and domestic violence are discussed.

Good question!
In my first PALE WOODS MYSTERY, MY BROTHER’S KEEPER, I start the book with an event that happened to me. I was sitting alone on my couch, when I heard noises upstairs. I quickly ran to investigate the source of the sounds, but no one was there, and everything was in its place. (less)
