Caroline Wei is a Taiwanese American author and college student from Houston, Texas. Her first novel, a sci-fi adventure retelling of Cinderella called "The Amnesia Experiment," was published between her sophomore and junior years of high school. She is currently studying English and Creative Writing at Stanford University and is Editor-in-Chief at the Leland Quarterly, Stanford’s arts and writing literary magazine. I am extremely interested in your book since I too love a fairy tale retelling. I am very picky about the books I buy because I teach junior high in a small rural Illinois town. The books I buy will wind up on my classroom library shelves. I am cautious about books with expletive language (mainly the F-word) and books that have overt sex. So, can you give me some info about this in your book? Thank you Jackie K

There are no sexual scenes or F-words in my book -- I personally avoid expletives in my personal life and that translated into my writing -- however the beginning can be considered rather violent. I'm completely honored that you're considering my book for your in-classroom library! Those changed my life as a kid. Having books readily available to you is so important.
And yes, I did write this in high school! I started it in ninth grade -- I hope this will be inspiring to your students :)
