Believe it or not, my professional career began in a pinstripe suit and practical pumps - yep, I was a CPA before a midlife awakening sent me down the creative writing rabbit hole. First experimenting with fanfiction, I discovered a love for bending canon, which I've gleefully applied to the already-quirky cast of characters from ancient mythology. First Quiver is my debut novel and book one of the 4-book Cupid's Fall series.

I do have some fond memories of Firestone High and growing up in Ohio, which is in part why I set my Cupid's Fall series in the Midwest! I now live in a western suburb of Boston, which has that small-town feel with a big city nearby. But I can always tell immediately when I meet a fellow Midwesterner - that easy smile, slower gait, friendly "hi"!(less)

When my characters start to create the story, I get front row seats to my own personal adventure - one I set in motion but lost control of the moment my characters started to define themselves. This is my form of meditation, of allowing mind to dominate over matter. The writing bug bit me ten years ago, and I have never been bored since!(less)

I See You've Called in Dead by John Kenney
"5 stars ⭐️

This book found me at the right time. It was heartfelt, and oh so funny! I appreciate some good wit in a book.

Bud Stanley, an obituary writer, accidentally posts his obituary after a night of one too many drinks. Bud is freshly divorced, " Read more of this review »

"This is my best book of 2025. Read it. Except for the slew of elderly ladies here who have been trolling me every day for daring to think a book they liked wasn’t very good at all. You don’t deserve to get to know these people."
I See You've Called in Dead by John Kenney
"This is one of those books that I’m going to tell people about until they either read it or stop asking me what I’ve read lately. I loved it.

I had heard it was funny, and a story about an obituary writer who accidentally publishes his own obituary… " Read more of this review »
