I’d go to Rivendell to see the elves. In my teens I was given an illustrated guide to Lord of the Rings and fell in love with the world as pictured. Of course I’d want to go after the ring saga. Meeting the elves would be adventure enough for me! I’d have a nice relaxing holiday, though I’m not sure I’d want to leave. Bilbo managed to complete his book there, so it must be conducive to writing. I do hope that the elves like cats; just in case I decide to take up permanent residence :)(less)

I didn’t think I’d ever write a children’s book, but I write a 100 word story for a prompt every week that I also post on my Facebook page. One week the prompt was about discovering your neighbour is a spy. That’s when eleven year old twins, Jem and Clem, came to me. They starred in a couple more of my 100 word stories and I suddenly found myself writing a middle grade picture book / spy novel. I’m not a fast writer though and usually favour short stories. So look out for a few more this year.(less)

I wasn't sure if I wanted to read this book, having found the original trilogy so much. I expected the games to be more of the same, but the treatment of the tributes was so different and there were certainly one or two surprises. I found myself very ...more
