If I hadn't thought that this was a well written and suspenseful novel, I wouldn't have gone to the trouble of translating it. ...more

This novel is a real page turner, funny and suspenseful. It's (very loosely) based on a true story: the murder of a priest by a dissolute aristocrat in Imola, Italy in 1881. I enjoyed this novel so much that I translated it, along with my co-translat ...more
