D. L. Boyles hails from the Midwest in an area known for biking, a famous astronaut, and cranberries, where she resides with her husband and three of their four children, their oldest now an adult and mom herself. Completing the family is their cat-dog duo—the jury is still out whether the dog thinks she's a cat or the cat thinks she's a dog—six tropical fish, two frogs, and the fastest aquatic snail she's ever seen. Gardening and imagining things for her husband and son to build are a few of her favorite activities when not reading or writing or entertaining outdoors.

She spent twelve years in the military and has a degree in Religious Studies with a minor in History. Her favorite things are coconut water, hot tea, Fall, and planting trees. ...more
