On The Market: The laugh out loud, contemporary romantic comedy of the year. Not to be missed!On The Market is a laugh out loud read from beginning to end. I couldn't stop reading it as the main character, Laura Stanhope navigates the sale of the family estate and the array of characters, especially feisty character Monica, who steals the show with her sexually liberated and strong female leadership with regards to men.
The story is set in the English countryside and has Laura, a 30 something, looking for love. There's never a dull moment in Chalkewood and Saphel Rose gives us women for the 21st century who are fully in control of their lives and sexuality, who are firmly in charge of the the men around them and control their own destiny. Saphel Rose manages to tread the line of making the book sexy without resorting to graphic bedroom antics. At all times, the comedic element of the characters situations are maintained and the story evolves at a fast pace.
If you're looking for a romantic comedy with a difference, then On The Market is for you. Can't wait to read the next book in the series, Wonderlust.
