“Everyone sees what you appear to be, few experience what you really are.”
― The Prince
― The Prince

“But you cannot understand life and its mysteries as long as you try to grasp it. Indeed, you cannot grasp it, just as you cannot walk off with a river in a bucket. If you try to capture running water in a bucket, it is clear that you do not understand it and that you will always be disappointed, for in the bucket the water does not run. To “have” running water you must let go of it and let it run.”

Good to connect, Mike! And our shelves are similar :) I love your group as well, and keep meaning to participate more.
Writer's bloc doesn't get me--but that isn't to say I don't have writer's frustration at times.
And isn't Texas the most wondrous amalgam of different states :)

When I started reading this book I had to put it down and laugh....not because it was so funny...but because the characters are so delightfully drawn. I know these people!! The story is compelling, touching, and sure enough could only take place in small town Texas. It's a book of discovery, far deeper and philosophical than one is led to believe after reading the first chapter. Characters work their way down a convoluted path of self discovery...and..so does the reader. Actually, be prepared to read fast. Stop. Go back and re-read unfolding a whole new level of thinking. It's the story of a small town wife dealing with infidelity. Or is it? And it all happens in a Texas town like the one just down the road from where you live.
