I must have misread the original review I read. I expected some sort of cozy mystery/parody of Little Women, but there wasn't much "cozy" about it.

Bernet really went with "every character is a suspect" which got to be a bit old.

I think the author had

I loved this book. I think it came to me at the perfect time.

I loved his depiction of the kids. Asher was a great character.

The ending was a shock, I have to admit. I did not expect that, but I see how it happened.

I had no experience with this auth

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a Hallmark movie in a book.

I ended up quite conflicted about this book, so I took the baby and cut it down the middle. Half I really liked and half I didn't. But there were no defined spaces. Some sentences I liked and others I didn't. One paragraph, one scene and then the opp ...more

As a librarian, the title caught my eye. Obviously.

I was hesitant, however, to start the book because the contents of the story sounded so horrific. (They are.) But I was sucked into the story quickly. I liked the dual storylines as it allowed me (i

I liked The Black Wolf better than The Grey Wolf...until the end.

It was as if she had reached her word count and decided to wrap it up as quickly as possible. All summarized. It wasn't very satisfying.

However, it was pretty amazing how prescient Pen

I think this is one of those incidences where I'm just not the right reader for this book.

I read it, I finished it, but I couldn't tell you about the curse and what it was and what they had to do to counteract it. And then I realized, I didn't much

For me, clearly the least interesting of the Thursday Murder books. The plot seemed to "fly away" in so many directions, it just lost me and I didn't care. The characters went with those strands and I ended up not caring about them either. Well, exce ...more
