edit data

Amber Reinke has been obsessed with all things dark and unsettling since a teacher introduced her to Edgar Allen Poe in the fifth grade. That same teacher, no doubt weary of her regaling students with her own scary stories in the middle of class, would go on to encourage her to write them down.

She has been many things since then, from bear builder to video game developer to freelance artist, but she never lost her love of telling unsettling tales.

She lives in a creaky old house with her supportive and tolerant husband and their son Poe - who insisted his name be included…and that he is a necromancer.

Amber is currently writing a sprawling dark fantasy series and is stuck under two large, overly affectionate cats - please send help.

Tears and Progress

I have revised up to chapter eleven in my thirty-two chapter novel. Which may not seem like a lot, but it does feel like it. I have also cried twice during this process and am hoping this translates to tears for the reader...

Not enough is shared about the revision process, or how many revisions the average author goes through per book. It has been a journey of learning for me. As well as teaching Read more of this blog post »
