Fannie resides in the Chicagoland area and enjoys creating stories that bring her hometown and other cities to life. Her favorite part of writing is the art of creating a vivid and visual world, populated by an entertaining, interesting, and flawed cast of characters with a real life feel.

An avid Assassin's Creed fan girl, when she's not writing she spends her free time with family and friends, watching football and hockey, going to movies, reading, and playing the occasional adventure / RPG on her gaming console.

Fannie follows up the release of her debut novel, Dancing in Graveyards, with The Cambion Rider Chronicles. The series includes two short story preludes, Sirens, originally released in the anthology Shades of Horror and Strange

Fortunately, (or unfortunately, depending on your view point) my life is not eventful enough to sustain a plot for a book on face value. That said, I've had some adventurous vacations, particularly my time spent in Guatemala, that lend themselves to being pulled into a story. I would have to doctor them up of course to make them worthy of public consumption, but luckily that's part of the fun of being a writer. Taking a mundane situation and making it interesting enough to hold the attention of readers.(less)

I know there are some that will outline the story from beginning to end so they have an idea of what is going to happen next. I have heard this reduces writer's block once a story is in progress.

For me however, this does not work. I have tried creating a complete outline of a novel, and once completed I lose the desire to write the novel. For me once the concept/idea is out of my head and on paper it kills the desire to continue.

So for the dreaded writer's block... one of the things I do is go back a few chapters and see if I've written the character into a corner. Meaning have I removed all options that character would likely take to resolve whatever issue is at hand. If I haven't written them into a corner, I can usually look at the "block" from the perspective of the character and see what actions they would take next... or what other roadblocks can I toss up for them to work out.(less)
