Hi, Martha!
I have always written when I can, morning or night. When I first started, it was always at night after my sons went to bed. However, I know it goes easier if I write in the morning. My brain is just fresher then. The one time it is never easy is between about 3 and 5 pm. Then it is like swimming through mud.
When I gave up the day job, I expected to be soooooo productive with that extra time. While it picked up, I did not become the writing dynamo I envisioned. I am still adjusting. I do think that I have better focus now. Setting aside the day job grief has energized me in new ways. It has affected my creativity more than my productivity, I think. I am playing with ideas and new projects in ways I never would have before. (less)

I guess it happens in rare occasions, perhaps when a writer has experienced some emotional trauma or medical problem. For most of us, what we call writers' block is really a serious case of procrastination that has fed on itself. The only cure is to place one's butt in the chair and start writing. (less)

“I never hated you. My anger was never with you, but with the little hell my heart had put me in. The anger always passed. I never regretted loving you. If I had gone to my grave never kissing you or touching you, I still would not have thought it a wasted love.”
Madeline Hunter, The Romantic

“I did indeed say you could have lovers. But I never promised that I would not kill them.”
Madeline Hunter, Ravishing in Red

“You will have to forgive me, Major Woodruffe. I am new to marriage, and perhaps more given to jealousy than some of the more experienced husbands that you know. It is possible that you seek only friendship with my wife. If, however, you entertain any other--"
-Sebastian to Woodruffe
"I assure you that such a thing is the furthest thing from my mind."
-Woodruffe to Sebastian
"Come now, Major. We are both men. Such ideas are never far from our minds at all. But if you do anything that causes me to think that your mind dwells long on that particular idea, I will thrash you, I will ruin you, and I will probably kill you.
-Sebastian to Woodruffe”
