I am an author of many things. I write what my mind forces me to, which does not follow any particular genre. This could be a science fiction, a fantasy, horror, mystery,Gothic romance or just straight fiction. My writing can range from short story to novella to a full length novel. I mostly deal with an adult audience, but have been known to put out the odd kids book and a few verses of poetry along the way. I both write and illustrate. But I am best known for endings with a twist!

I am an avid collector of things of many cultures, African, Oriental, Native and many things of nature, such as stones, fossils, butterflies, starfish and shells.

C. (Comment, never msg). Yes, I say why not ask, when we have the special privilege of asking the authoress where she had in mind! :) I have visited Toronto and region many times and love it. Now a young brother has married and lived there six years. So much to see every time. I saw your e-mail Cindy, thank you!

Cindy Sprigg I am so sorry about forgetting to answer your question about the setting of the ghost story. Many of my stories have a fictitious or "anywhere" setting, but if I had to set a location, for this one, it is very reminiscent to bar on Eglington Ave. in Scarborough, a suburb of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Also sent you a collection of my short stories by email, included is "Man's Best Friend". I am not surprised you did not get this one, it has a doubt twist to it.

C. (Comment, never msg). You sweetly sent two stories a while ago and they are undoubtedly unique. It has been at the back of my mind to follow-up the way you deserve, Cindy. In fact I wonder if you could resend the PDF of "Man's Best Friend". I didn't understand it the first time and wanted to read it again carefully, then mark it "read" on this website.

Good to know where you're from, or are now anyway! Whether here or in e-mail, please don't forget to tell me where you imagined the cackling lady's ghost story was set. Where that inn might be. :) Carolyn.

thank-you so much for your kind words. I am in Chatham, Ontario, but have lived all over the province. I grew up on ghost stories, but tied soon of the routine formula that most possess.

C. (Comment, never msg). Cindy, I have read "Is It A Ghost Story You Wanted?" and enjoyed it! Notably the portions of a potentially traditional scenario that you spun in original ways. I'll put these words into my review. Where in Canada are you? Where in Canada / the world did you envision this story occurring? Handy to know for reading challenge qualifiers! [GRIN] Carolyn.
