I hate talking about myself in the third person--feels too much like a eulogy and I'm not dead yet. So here it goes, one biography coming up.

Humor, be it light or dark, is critical to my mental health. Add a dash of snark, a little suspense and an occasional murder and you've found my literary voice. Oh, and smexy. Can't forget the smexy. My theory is a kiss should be meaningful regardless of length, a hero can say as much with a well-written look as he can with a long-winded paragraph, and heroines are meant to hold their own. She's no Cinderella and Shakespeare wrote the only Romeo and Juliet, so I stick to women who can save themselves and tortured heros who are loathe to let them. Actually, no, there are (about) 5 more books slated in this series. The next one is RETRIBUTION, and I'm hoping to have it out around the end of the year (or so). These books take quite a bit longer to write because I write them for the sheer joy of writing. Don't get me wrong! I enjoy everything I write, but if I have something contracted, I have to write it first. I'm thinking of serializing the next book (RETRIBUTION) and selling it for $0.99 a month for, say, 5 or 6 chapters. But we'll see. The most important thing is that I give you the best book I can.

Also, under my pseudonym (Kelli Ireland), I'm releasing a new urban fantasy series called The Key Guardians. And book one is titled RAISING CAIN. It comes out April 7 (digital only) but is my favorite book **ever**! There are five, maybe 6, books in that series, and it's moving right along re: getting them written.

I'll keep you posted on my progress with RETRIBUTION, though. I promise. And as soon as I have even a rough release date, I'll post it here so you know.

First, thank you so, so much for loving the Niteclif series! It has always held such a special place in my heart. I love all of the characters and their struggles. Above all, I absolutely love my readers for sticking with the series. You are absolutely the BEST readers I could have hoped for.

So, about "Retribution"... I don't know how much you know about the issues facing the publisher of the Niteclif Evolutions, Samhain Publishing. Basically, the publisher is in the process of shuttering the business and closing its doors. That means I'll potentially be getting rights back for the Niteclif books. While this opens doors to a lot of potential opportunities (i.e. possible self-publishing?), it means that, as of right now, I don't have a publisher for "Retribution." Does that mean the book will never be published? No. Absolutely not. It simply means I need to weather the current storm and then determine the best way to get "Retribution" to my readers. I'll keep everyone up to date here and on my blog so that you know when to expect it.

In the meantime, I'm also writing as Kelli Ireland, and I have a new urban fantasy series I started called The Key Guardians. Book one is titled "Raising Cain." Thanks for recommending my books! And WOW! There is NO higher compliment than to hear a reader has re-read your books. It's awesome! I'm grinning like crazy.. :)

Legacy will be out in paperback on September 5, 2012, and Wrath will be out on March 3, 2013.

I'm SO, SO sorry I missed this message! First, let me thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love of the Niteclif Evolutions. The characters are all very special to me and to know you love them? I just melt inside. It makes me incredibly happy. :)
