For The Accident, the research was that I’d spent two decades working in the book-publishing business. So I guess the bulk of my research has been living my life. I also do a bit of factual background—reading CIA memoirs, or books about cyber-crime, for example—but the truth is that very little of this research ends up in my novels. (less)
