Hot boy in my inbox, Lila & Alex finally get it on, and other exciting news
Today in my inbox: the US cover for The Sound PLUS the cover they didn't end up using with the three models they hired to play Jesse, Ren and Jeremy. And holy mother of HOTNESS (as Megan would say) the guy playing Jesse is supremely yummy he ALMOST lives up to the one in my imagination. Quite a feat.
I also got the cover through for OUT OF CONTROL (out next year) and it's brilliant! Can't wait to share.
But even so nothing is quite as hot as the fourth thing in my inbox.. the uncut, copy-edited LILA X-RATED SCENE (over 18s only) that is coming in January. Here's a little taster to, um, wet your appetites...
" ‘I want to be able to give you one hundred percent of my attention. Right now, with the Unit on our tail, I’m going to be giving you less than fifty percent. I got one eye on the door and one on you, not to mention a gun under the pillow. Not exactly the accessory I imagined.’

Auditioning hot male models, making movies & freaking out
The last month has been rather overwhelming. For the first couple of years of being a writer I was head down, concentrating on bashing out books and I became a big hermit.
The last year things went from busy to insanely, brain-meltingly busy to the point where I now regularly have freak outs and have to lie down, eat chocolate and try to breathe.
This is what I'm working on:
Editing a book that's coming out in June
Organising PR for two books coming out in May (The Sound in the US and Out of Control in the UK)
Writing two new books for Simon & Schuster
Coming up with two new pitches for books for Pan Macmillan
The Hunting Lila Screenplay
Three TV pitches for my film agent
A feature film (untitled)
A sample script for agents in the US
this is what happens when you decide, following Neil Gaiman's advice, to set your mountain as high as Everest, and when you want it all and you want it NOW.
But while this month has been crazy, topsy turvy, hectic and stressful it's also been very exciting because I got to make a trailer for The Sound and that involved auditioning male models with THEIR TOPS OFF. I actually got the giggles when the director requested the removal of T-shirts and had to look away. But that didn't last long because the twelve-pack on display demanded scrutiny, close scrutiny.
Later, after we had cast the delectable and oh-so-beautiful-it-was-hard-to-believe-he-was-real JP, and we had him on set (with his TOP OFF) we made him do fifty press ups before coating him in oil and handing him a wrench. Good to go!
Most the all female crew spent their time trying to pick their jaws up off the floor. Time well spent.
Thus it was proved that my imagination can actually be bested by real life.
For pictures (yes, including ones of JP with his top off) visit my FB page www.facebook.com/sarahjalderson
The trailer will be ready in the next three weeks... so get your fans out and be ready for an awesome competition to celebrate.
And don't forget you can download a sample of Out of Control, my new book (out in May) from here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

The SOUND TRAILER is finished!
I am beyond excited to be able to finally show the trailer for The Sound. It's had over 7,000 views across various platforms in just 5 days....possibly to do with the delicious oiled-six pack on display and the serious hotness that is Jesse.
Still can't believe we managed to cast such perfect people to play Jesse, Ren and Sophie. And they all look gorgeous on camera, don't you think?
If you have 90 seconds to spare they won't be wasted! In fact make sure you have your hand hovering over the pause button for. That. Scene. ahum.
HERE IS THE LINK TO THE TRAILER
And I'm also running a competition so get in there quick. You can win a signed copy of The Sound, the leather bracelet that Alex gave Lila in Hunting Lila and Amazon / Book Depository vouchers.

I'll use this space to write about what it's like being a writer; getting published, finding an agent, writing for young adults, how to build a platform and whatever else you ask for. (so do ask).
Hopefully my experience will inspire other writers out there or just make for an interesting read. ...more
