Kaite Welsh is an author, critic and journalist living in Scotland.

Her novel The Wages of Sin, a feminist historical crime novel set in Victorian Edinburgh, is out in 2017 from Pegasus Books in the US in May and Headline/Tinder Press in June. It is the first novel featuring medical student, fallen woman and amateur sleuth Sarah Gilchrist, with two further books due in 2018 and 2019.

Her fiction has featured in several anthologies and she writes a regular column on LGBT issues for the Daily Telegraph as well as making frequent appearances on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. I truly hope there are many more Sarah Gilchrist mysteries in the pipeline. Though I just discovered the novels this summer, she has become one of my favorite characters. I am listening to The Unquiet Heart in book on CD and could listen to the characters talk for hours on end. Will any future novels include anything about this historic background to women in medical college in Scotland?

I absolutely love the Sarah Gilchrist series and the books mean so much to me <3 They're my all time favourite neo-Victorian novels and definitely the best neo-Victorian ones I've ever read. Please tell me that there will be more books in the series (pretty please)?!
