They say you should write the book you'd want to read...because you will be reading it a lot

As a kid, I watched the shining. The main characters insanity over a blank page did not resonate with me. As an adult who somehow out of all the paths in the world choose storytelling, it still doesn't resonate with me. He wants to go insane over writer's block, really?
