Achintya Kumar Sengupta (19 September, 1903 – January 9, 1976) was a Bengali poet, novelist and editor. After Tagore and Sharat Chandra, he was one of the writers of the modern era in Bengali literature. In 1921, his first poem was published in Probashi patrika under the pseudonym ‘Niharika Debi’. Then he got special achievement in novels and short stories writing. ‘Bede (1928) was first written novel of his and it is known as a prominent novel in modern Bengali literature for its organic, composition stance and formatting issues.
