Tim McWhorter was born under a waning crescent moon, and while he has no idea what the significance is, he thinks it sounds really cool to say. A graduate of Otterbein College, he is the author of the novella SHADOWS REMAIN, the horror-thrillers, THE OPENING, BONE WHITE, its sequel, BLACKENED, a collection of short stories titled LET THERE BE DARK. Described as "an intelligent thrill ride that presents itself as a love letter to slasher stories," BONE WHITE came in at #11 on HorrorUnderground's Top Books of 2015.

He lives the suburban life just outside of Columbus, OH, with his wife, a handful of children and a few 'family' pets that have somehow become solely his responsibility. He is currently hard at work on another thriller with just eno

I don't write to change the world. My works will never be compared to the great literary minds we know and respect, and that's fine with me. That's not my goal. I just want to tell stories. If I can entertain someone for a weekend, then I'm happy. That's what I like most about being a writer.(less)

Tentative release will be mid to late spring. The second project I am working on is the editing of some short stories due to be released in a collection after the first of the year. The collection is titled Swallowing The Worm and Other Stories. Basically, both of my releases so far are in the horror genre, but that's not all I write. This collection of stories could be classified as more mainstream, and is intended to simply show another side of me. Thanks for the question and I appreciate the support!(less)

“They don’t just put in random driveways because they think they’ll add to the natural beauty of things.”
Tim McWhorter, Bone White

“Did I mention that besides being the brains of our little group, Garrett was also the one with the biggest balls? Skeletal hands rising out of a murky lake notwithstanding, I had rarely ever seen him scared of anything. I, on the other hand, was his opposite. Along with clowns and insects larger than my thumb, a dark and foreboding forest rounded out the trio of things that meant nightmares for me.”
Tim McWhorter, Bone White

“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”
Ernest Hemingway

“If we, citizens, do not support our artists, then we sacrifice our imagination on the altar of crude reality and we end up believing in nothing and having worthless dreams.”
Yann Martel, Life of Pi

“Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self."

[The New Statesman, February 25, 1933]”
Cyril Connolly

“I was not a lovable child, and I'd grown into a deeply unlovable adult. Draw a picture of my soul, and it'd be a scribble with fangs.”
Gillian Flynn, Dark Places

“When you first heard him talking about it, you'd figure he was batshit crazy, but really, he was just trying to fill up his days so he didn't have to think about what a fucking mess he had made of everything. It's the same for most of us; forgetting our lives might be the best we'll ever do.”
