I live near the historical part of the shore where I write blogs, short stories, that novel I want to finish and making to-do lists.

The setting around me is loaded with history open to explore whether it's in books or driving around. I could have any number of podcasts or purchased music to listen to while I explore this world.

Writing Critique groups are a big help when it comes to practicing my craft. I used to be part of the local Writer's Group, The Writer's Block, and the writers that met at the Barnes and Noble.

To start each morning right, I look up Sally Forth, Pearls Before Swine, Drabble, Pickles, Peanuts comics.

Music is important for inspiring creativity. The music I look to depends on my mood or scene. I have every Springsteen

When I finish I get to talk to other writers who lose themselves in their worlds and we compare our worlds. We recommend other writers and other worlds. There's solitude when I type, but I still with my characters, then there's a community of authors and readers, like here, where we share all these experiences. (less)

Some of the people there never published and still haven't published to this day. Some members were published. By published, I mean wrote manuals for companies, wrote articles for newspapers, wrote for the community newsletter. Writer doesn't mean books. I met with others who wanted to communicate. "Writer" didn't mean a certain standard, it meant seriousness to communicate. So I considered myself a writer when I could hobnob with these writers in various stages of the game. (less)

Too Odd for radio, but not for music fans

 Morphine

It was such a strange sound from a band. They didn’t have a guitarist. Mark Sandman played bass, saxophonist Dana Colley and drummer Jerome Dupree and later Billy Conway. That’s it. It wasn’t jazz or rock, but a funky mix. The band was called Morphine. That isn’t a name that Top 40 radio would like, but it’s memorable.

They got airplay on alternative radio because of bass intros, how not
