He attended The University of Arkansas, where he played football for the Arkansas razorbacks. He also attended the University of Colorado. He is on the executive board of advisers (The College Of Business) st UNLV, and, lectures at major Universities around the world. Jim, also served in Vietnam 1967-69 with, the rank of Captain (U.S. Army). He flew with the 120th AHC (The Razorbacks) based at Long Binh and Tan Son Nuht air base in Saigon. He was awarded four Air Ribbons and the Bronze Star for Valor. When, he came home, he formed his own business, becoming a multimillionaire by the age of thirty seven. Mr. Pickens is, one of the four men who founded and developed the timeshare industry in the early 1970's in the U.S. Mr. Pickens has one daughter and two grandson's.
