Paul Haddad is the author of "Mulholland Drive: Seductive Curves, Fiery Canyons, and the Making of the American Dream." (Release date: Feb. 23, 2027). He has written six nonfiction books about his native Los Angeles, including "Freewaytopia: How Freeways Shaped Los Angeles" and the LA Times Bestsellers "Inventing Paradise: The Power Brokers Who Created the Dream of Los Angeles" (named one of the Best Nonfiction Books of 2024 by Los Angeles Public Library) and "10,000 Steps a Day in L.A.: 57 Walking Adventures." His musings on Southern California have appeared in such outlets as the L.A. Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Washington Post, and NPR.
