Thanks for the question, Linda.

I am thinking of writing a followup to The Girl in the City, yes. It's tentatively titled The Girl in the Wilderness and follows on directly from the end of the first book.

I don't know when I'm going to write it yet but a lot of people seem to want to read more about Leah so I'm sure I'll revisit that world soon.

I was letting my mind wander one day and the image of a husband watching a count of nanobots in his injured wife came to me. It seemed like a very interesting idea but it wasn't a story. I needed to know why she was being healed by nanobots.

Without going into spoiler territory I quickly came up with how she'd been hurt. From there it was a case of finding an interesting why. I pictured the couple as explorers on Mars and then the rest kind of rolled out from there as I was outlining the story.

That initial image was the anchor though and I'm pleased with how it came out.(less)

Fight Club vs Angel Heart

Before we start, a warning. There will be spoilers for both Fight Club and Angel Heart in this post. They’re both good movies so, if you haven’t seen them, go watch them before reading on.

I rewatched both Fight Club (David Fincher, 1999) and Angel Heart (Alan Parker, 1987) recently and although I enjoyed them both, one of them handles its twist significantly better than the other.

Spoiler: It’
