“A&R stands for “artists and repertoire.” No one knows what that means, but the A&R guy is the person at the record label in charge of making sure a band doesn’t suck, overdose, or try to make a concept album.”
Dave Hill, Tasteful Nudes: ...and Other Misguided Attempts at Personal Growth and Validation

“I had chosen to believe that my recent promotion was due to my overall sense of responsibility, my razor-sharp attention to detail, and that fact that I had yet to show up to work drunk. I now realized that what had really given me the edge over my fellow employees was that I simply wasn’t on crack.”
Dave Hill, Tasteful Nudes: ...and Other Misguided Attempts at Personal Growth and Validation

“It was in that moment I remembered that while I may have been a quarter Canadian, my mother was twice the Canadian I was, so her tolerance for bullshit on the ice was even lower than mine. I both feared and admired her for that.”

Nefariousbig ...now living in New York City in an apartment all by himself because he is a grown man.

Or, as my son the Marine says: "don't tell me what to do, I'm a grown ass man, MOMMY." hehe...congrats on being a grown ass man. Also, you remind me of Rich Fulcher, he's hysterical!

Europa Editions Really great event last night at Housing works, Dave!

Elizabeth Cárdenas I'm working on my pitch for a home visit from you! Don't pick winners yet - please.

Dave Hill Costly, maybe. But totally, totally worth it! Thank you!

Elizabeth Cárdenas You are costing me so much money, my friend:

15.99 for Tasteful Nudes by Dave Hill
14.17 for You're Not Doing It Right by Michael Ian Black
(because Amazon suggested I buy both)
and, after listening to your podcasts:
11.35 for Talk Show... by Dick Cavett

Yep, this friendship is going to be costly
