So the new short story I am working on called Taut, is going well. This one is for the upcoming anthology, Zippered Flesh 2. I have been doing quite a bit of research on it, to keep this one based in as much reality as possible so that when it is done and people read it, it will truly horrify them. And since this story is also deeply set in a subculture world, I do not want to insult people that are part of it, so I am really doing my best to ensure that I stay true to their way of life.
I have been telling my partner and editor, Mina, about what I have planned and where I am going with it, and judging by her reaction, usually the disgusted look on her face, I feel like I am headed in the right direction.

If you read the first Zippered Flesh anthology, good news, a second one is just around the corner. The next installment should be out next month and has a great line up. So, I had planned to release my new collection of short stories called Dark Reaches in December of this year, but I have decided to put it on hold until at least spring of next year. Is this a bad thing? Not at all. The reason for this is that I have sold three stories that were supposed to appear in there and have three more sales pending. With a possibility of six stories gone, that creates an issue for the book.
So why spring?
I am currently writing three new stories and have more than five that will be available to reprint. I will also be able to add The Old Man to this one. This was the story that was going to appear in Fresh Grounds, but as Wicked East Press now seems all but defunct, I will use it in Dark Reaches.
So what is currently still a go in the ToC? Here is a list of what will be in there for sure:
