Interview
So the other day I was sent a message through Twitter to do an interview with some new website. I was a bit hesitant, but here it is if anyone wanted to read it.

New short story, Taut
So the new short story I am working on called Taut, is going well. This one is for the upcoming anthology, Zippered Flesh 2. I have been doing quite a bit of research on it, to keep this one based in as much reality as possible so that when it is done and people read it, it will truly horrify them. And since this story is also deeply set in a subculture world, I do not want to insult people that are part of it, so I am really doing my best to ensure that I stay true to their way of life.
I have been telling my partner and editor, Mina, about what I have planned and where I am going with it, and judging by her reaction, usually the disgusted look on her face, I feel like I am headed in the right direction.

Reviews of At the Gates of Madness
While there are a few reviews up here of At the Gates of Madness, Barnes and Noble has 28 up, all of them are pretty positive and make me damn happy that so many people seem to be liking what I write. I spent a lot of time on those stories, and even though I am not 100% happy with it due to some editing issues, people seem to be over looking it and taking it for what it is. Hopefully more people will add reviews on here for it, but for now, you can head over there and see what people think.
It is also the cheapest site for the print copy (wink wink, nudge nudge):

Writing and releases
This week I managed to finish the first edits on my new story, Taut, that I plan to submit to Zippered Flesh 2. My editor seems to think the story is high on the creep factor which is what I was hoping for.
I've also been compiling stories for a new collection with my brother, Jamie Meeks, which we plan to release later this year. The collection, Brother's Ilk, will contain roughly 20 stories. So far my stories will be Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge, Under the Apple Tree, Streets of Prey, WRIP Dead Rock Radio, Ssssh! Don't Sing, Last Room Available, The Shadow of Memory, Madness, Whispers in the Walls and The Pork pie Sisters. There will be one or two more stories added to my side and this list may change as I go along. Can't wait for the release.

ZOMBIES!
The Kindle version of the new zombie anthology, Zombies Gone Wild is finally here! The book is packed with some very strange and amazing stories. One of the stories is my own, Dreams of a Dead Man. That one is a strange a somewhat demented story written in the first person. The fact that that person is a zombie makes it stranger. This is not you typical zombie story or collection and is well worth it. I hope to hear how people liked, or even dislike my story. Here's the link to it:

Working
Over the last week I have been super busy trying to get some things done. I hit a snag with my completed story, Miriam, which I had sent out way back in July. On Monday I was told that the people I sent it to never received a copy, despite the email I received from them stating they had. What can you do?
Good news is, I sent it out again and have my fingers crossed on it.
I have also been hard at work putting the stories together for the collectiob with my brother called Brother's Ilk. It's coming along nicely, but I keep getting side track with other projects. One of them is the storyline for a graphic novel I want to do called Scars. It's a pretty epic story that cross the horror and martial arts genre.
What I've been working hard on as well, is a new series of books I want to do called The Shymoar. It will be at least 3 books and is slightly different from my normal writing. It will still be horror, but will border on a fable as well. Picture Harry Potter meets Clive Barker's Cabal (Nightbreed). I will be co-writing this one with Gillian Kirk and may be looking for an illustrator to add something special to it.

Strange Brew
Today I received an email that my story, They Say the Dead Don't Drink, has been accepted and will be features in the upcoming release called A Six Pack of Stories. The anthology is all about beer, but don't worry, it's still a horror story. I actually wrote this one around 10 years ago and only rediscovered it this year while going through all my old stories. I won't give the story away, but it is a twisted one.
The good news is, even though I only received the acceptance letter today, the anthology is due out early December of 2012. It will be available in print and in digital formats. Once I get the links, I'll be sure to post them all here.
