The Melanie Chronicles is now availabe in paperback!

So now it’s official: the print version of The Melanie Chronicles is live on Amazon. You can find it here and it’s only $3.99 + shipping. A few people asked me why I was doing a print version when it’s already available as an e-book. Well, not everyone has or wants an e-reader. My mother is one of those people. She isn’t interested in e-readers at all–despite all my efforts to convince her of the joy that is Kindle. When I was in Philadelphia in February, we had a conversation that went something like this…

Me: Mom, I’ve published my collection of short stories now.

Mom: Oh, good! Where is it?

Me: It’s an e-book, so it’s on my Kindle. (Show my mother the ebook.)

Mom: But where’s the book?

Me: On the Kindle. See? Right there… (Show her the cover, etc on the Kindle.)

Mom: That’s so nice, honey, but I want a real book. Can’t you print one for me? You know I don’t like these techno-thingies.

I should also add that my mother doesn’t read the email I send her unless I call her first and tell her I’ve sent her an email. She’s not very into computers. She won’t even buy anything online if she can help it.

Anyway, several of my friends have also said they want to read my book but don’t have an e-reader and don’t like reading books on their computers. Plus, I am one of those people who loves my e-reader but still loves the thrill I get from having print books.

So for any of you who are like me and still like print books or if you’re like my mom and you don’t like techno-thingies, the wait is over–the book is now officially live on amazon.com. You can also order it from my CreateSpace mini-store.

That’s it for now! I am trying to finish A Little Night Music and Another Cup of Love, plus the revision/editing of Snowbound so you can have even more from me to read.

Choose Me is live!

So Choose Me is finally live. It’s not the collection of short stories I’d originally planned. A few months ago, I decided I’d rather release a novella instead of more short stories. I figured it was time for a longer piece of writing and–let’s face it–I am a little behind schedule. I can only blame it on having a heavy workload at the office and the fabulous weather here in Stockholm. It’s not often we have a summer like the current one–hardly any rain–amazingly blue skies…yes, this is the weather that makes you fall in love with Sweden.

The idea for Choose Me first came to me back in 2007. I think that was the year I reluctantly decided to try Nanowrimo–thanks Rebecca F. for encouraging me to do it! In fact, Choose Me (which was called Horizons back then) is part of the Nanowrimo novel I *almost* finished on time. I was one day late meeting the deadline due to illness and teaching an insane intensive Business English course. Instead of finishing on 30 November, I finished 1 December.

Jessica and Chris’s story starts in Choose Me. The second part of their story will come soon. Possibly in October. And the stories I’d originally planned? Well, they’ll be released around November or December.

At the moment, Choose Me is a Kindle-only novella. I hope to be able to release it for Kobo and Nook very soon. There won’t be a print version of Choose Me but if you’d like it as a PDF, you can always contact me here and we’ll see if we can work something out.

Snowbound is now live for Kindle

Snowbound by Kim Golden Just wanted to let you all know that Snowbound is now available for Kindle. I am so happy that my first full-length novel is finally published.

Snowbound will be available for other ereader formats but BN, iBookstore and Kobo aren't as quick about making titles available as Amazon. I think it will be another 2-3 weeks before it's available for Nook and for iBookstore it can take up to 6 weeks.

If you're interested in reading Snowbound but you don't have a Kindle, you can always download the free Kindle reading apps from Amazon.

To purchase Snowbound for your Kindle:
Amazon US: Snowbound
Amazon UK: Snowbound

Maybe Baby and more

Maybe Baby by Kim Golden After a busy week, I am glad to say that Maybe Baby is now available for Kindle, Kobo and in paperback. Hopefully, the Nook version will be available soon. It's taking forever to get it online there.

I'm also hard at work on two projects connected to Maybe Baby--Maybe Tonight and Maybe Tomorrow.

Maybe Tonight is--at the moment--an e-short that gives us a glimpse into Mads's life just before and just after he meets Laney. But here's the thing: this is just the beginning. Every few weeks, I'll be updating Maybe Tonight with new chapters, so it will grow to a full length-novel. So far, Maybe Tonight is only available for Kindle, but it'll be available for Kobo and Nook soon. And once the entire novel is complete, it'll be made available in paperback.

And then there's Maybe Tomorrow, the follow-up to Maybe Baby that follows Laney's cousin, Eddy, and what happens when she gets her own Danish surprise--not what she was anticipating, especially since she's moving back to New York. I'm nearly done writing my plot outline for Maybe Tomorrow and I hope to finish the first draft of it within the next few months.

Problems with Updating Maybe Tonight on KDP

Dear peeps, please let me know if you've had a problem getting the update of Maybe Tonight.

And then complain to Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing for misleading authors and readers--according to their platform and all information made available to authors, anyone who has purchased a book that is updated will be notified as soon as the update is available and then said update will appear automatically in your Kindle once you sync and check for new items.

However, I was just informed by KDP support that there is a "glitch" and it's not automated. And they haven't given me any useful advice yet for how to solve the problem other than "it might take four weeks to fix it" and "tell people to ask for a refund and then they can re-purchase the file and get the new book".

I am sorry about this. I can only say that anyone who purchased it after 18 April can see up to chapter 8. I am waiting for Amazon to get back to me and let me know how they intend to fix this problem. Until they can fix it, I will set up new blog later this week where I will publish all of the chapters. I will also ask Amazon to refund your money to you if they cannot come up with a way to solve this problem.

Maybe Tonight Kindle File Updating Automatically Now

maybe tonight by Kim Golden UPDATE: It seems like Amazon/KDP has fixed the automatic update--several people have told me the Maybe Tonight file has updated automatically for them on their Kindles. I just checked it on mine and it works. :)
