James McDevitt is a U.S. Army infantry officer and full-time firefighter from Alabama. With over twenty years of combined service, including multiple deployments to Iraq and Syria, he brings a deep respect for sacrifice, camaraderie, and resilience into his writing. He deployed as a lower enlisted soldier, a non-commissioned officer, and an officer, giving him the unique perspective of war from the ground up.
