I've enjoyed so many fantasy worlds, although usually they're in the middle of a war or something so visiting might be awkward. Jade City, for instance -- Fonda Lee does such a great job of world-building -- but I'd probably have to hide in the streets. Maybe an invisible cloak would help? I'd definitely need one to slip into the realms of the Elves in Lord of the Rings and go exploring. Or those incredible houses at Leigh Bardugo's Yale University. There's so many. Give me an invisible cloak!(less)

The best and maybe only way to deal with writer's block is to keep writing. Write in a journal, write with a timer so you can't overthink it, write on a napkin so you know you can throw it away if you want. Just keep writing.(less)

"Everyone here knows that Donna is my co-host on Step into the Story and my best friend. She and I chat almost every day. So obviously I went into my reading primed to love the book, and spoiler alert: I did.

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”

Steve Jobs
“Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
Steve Jobs

Suzanne Collins
“Live your life, take chances, be crazy. Dont wait 'cause right now is the oldest you've ever been & the youngest you'll be ever again”
Suzanne Collins

Robin Hobb
“Life is a balance. We tend to forget that as we go blithely from day to day. We eat and drink and sleep and assume that we will always rise up the next day, that meals and rest will always replenish us. Injuries we expect to heal, and pain to lessen as times goes by. Even when we are faced with wounds that heal more slowly, with pain that lessens by day only to return in full force at nightfall, even when sleep does not leave us rested, we still expect that somehow tomorrow all will come back into balance and that we will go on. At some point, the exquisite balance has tipped, and despite all our flailing efforts, we begin the slow fall from the body that maintains itself to the body that struggles, nails clawing, to cling to what it used to be.”
Robin Hobb, Fool's Errand

Robin Hobb
“Perhaps having the courage to find a better path is having the courage to risk making new mistakes.”
Robin Hobb, Golden Fool
