He was an amazing man and I count myself privileged to have been associated with him and be of help, however modest, in getting his brilliant book on combat intelligence into print. My only regret is that we did not have more years together. And thank you, also, for your own service to our country. (less)

Excerpt from The Life and Death of Lizzie Morris

There was a visitor who wanted very much to see Mrs. Morris,

the nurse said. He was not family and she knew the family’s

wishes, but he had been very polite and she tended to be sympa-

thetic. What should she do?

Matthew went with her to find out who it was, and he and

the visitor returned together. The visitor was a man who looked

to be in his mid-sixties, dressed in a somewhat crumpled black

suit. His

Jerry Ash Hi Robert!

Thanks for asking me to be your friend! You say we have "a bit in common"! It's uncanny and I'll say you've outdone my bio just a bit.

I'm embarrassed to do this, but already I am imposing on a friend. I'm working toward a September 22 book launch for my new work of historical fiction "Hellraiser—Mother Jones: An Historical Novel."

Illinois is one of the key states in which Mother Jones carries on her fight for the rights of working men and women and against child labor during the American Industrial Revolution.

I'm looking for book review editors in Chicago or anywhere in the state. Perhaps you can steer me to the right one!

Meanwhile, I want to put one of your books in my kindle. Which one would you recommend?
