Hello, I’m Susan MacIver. Most of my life I’ve been a desert rat and I love the sunny Southwest. I have to say that Arizona holds a special place in my heart for, like the mythical Firebird, Phoenix has helped me rise from the ashes more than once. Being surrounded by so much sand, it’s truly a mystery why I would choose to write about the ocean.

The funny thing is, I had never thought about writing anything other than grocery lists until one night, sharing wine with my sister, Cindy, she suggested that I write a book. And the magic words, “It should be about Atlantis,” sprang from her lips.

An incredible puzzle suddenly fell into place and I was off…in fits and starts and a lot of strange mutterings. I wrote the book and with all the wisdom
