It can be driven by fear, a lack of focus, or simply writing yourself into a corner. What pulls me from it is the phrase “Anything can happen.” When I remember that I’m don’t have to be stuck where I am in the story, that I can either change how I got there or how I get out, allows my brain to think outside of the path I was on previously. Some work. Some don’t. Some I keep. Some I throw out.

Writing on Vacation

I just got back from a great vacation with my family in Virginia. There were so many wonderful things to do that everyday was packed with activities. There were a couple of times, however, when everyone else went out and I stayed back in the room and wrote.

I loved it.

WritingOnVacationThe idea that I could have a number of daylight hours in a row to write at my leisure was as much fun as would be g Read more of this blog post »
