Jane Smith is an award-winning author-illustrator of twelve children's picture books, including the CHLOE ZOE series, HELLO NEW HOUSE, MISS MEOW and TEDDY'S BEAR TAKES A TUMBLE. Jane earned her BFA in Illustration at the Columbus College of Art & Design before beginning her career in publishing as an art director of children’s novelty books. And the need to connect with others is in-grained.

As a children's book author-illustrator, I often turn to universal themes & experiences, and then filter them through my own unique lens. For example, my picture book MISS MEOW is inspired by the nearly universal experience of kids everywhere pretending to be cats (or other animals) and requiring their family to treat them as such!
