“The sound hit them, like a blast in the face, chants of morality and family values. Picket signs swayed in time to the beat, the faces distorted into masks of hatred and intolerance. The crowd had doubled yet again in size and lined both sides of the street. Barricades had been placed to keep people off the street. The few protestors who broke through them were quickly shoved back by Cal’s security guards.”

I also really liked Anna Dressed in Blood (a male protagonist), Angelfall (a self pub'd book), and The Opposite of Invisible (a YA that isn't paranormal or post-apocalyptic).
Have you read Charlaine Harris's Lily Bard series? It's an adult suspense series. Talk about risk taking and brave. That's a great series. I wish she would've written more books in that series.
Anyway, see you around GR!
Thanks for the friend invite, Beth! I liked Bared to You over 50 Shades myself...haven't read the other 2 though (ducks for flying projectiles). I know, I know, I'm probably one of the rare few that didn't, but it's rare that I read YA. Completely agree on the risk taking books though, those have always been my favorites!See you around GR! ;)
Thanks for adding this mystery & paranormal author, Beth. I'm looking forward to reading your reviews. Happy reading.Kris Neri
