Dawn loves to write Christian romance, suspense, and women's fiction, as well as fantasy with a Christian worldview. She took first place in the Contemporary Romance category, as well as winning the Grand Prize, in the Writers On the Storm Category Five writing competition. She lives in the high desert of Southern Arizona with her husband of 20 years and a variety of critters, furred and feathered. If I run into a wall on a project, while my subconscious or conscious mind sorts out a fix for it, I work on another project. I always have multiple projects going, so I never run into one of those blocks some authors report about where they don't write for days, weeks, or months because they're blocked on one story. I just move to another project until the answer comes (which doesn't usually take long). Not stressing about the wall is critical. Stress destroys creativity. By not stressing about it and working on something else, it allows my creative juices to work on the problem and solve it while I get something else done.(less)

Seriously though, the thing I love most about being a writer is having the ability to share the stories that run through my head. I love to write. The process itself is therapeutic and enjoyable for me, even if I do sometimes procrastinate when I see a particularly nasty emotional scene coming up. I don't like to hurt my characters. Usually.
