I was born in Africa and left out in the sun too often.

After being persuaded that I wasn't going to be able to be a cowboy if I grew up, I got interested in philosophy and psychology. Tending bars proved to me they weren't as much fun as they sounded. While trying to enroll in a class to read Science Fiction full time, I ended up taking an electronic engineering degree which splendidly qualified me to move into marketing. That in turn spawned a late onset career in creative writing.

When not writing, I fly a microlight aircraft, or get muddy on a mountain bike.

I love reading obviously. Urban Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Thrillers, History, Crime, Art, oh nearly everything.

I am hopeless at estimates, at least until I start getting drafts in front of my editor.
A short story 'Enzili' will be released in an anthology in March called 'Vampires of the Caribbean'. It involves the Athanate and is set in the 1790s. That's already written, so I'm pretty sure about that.
I think Bian's Tale will be next, and I think that'll be out in mid year. Bite Back 6 should follow in the fall, and I will also publish the third novella in the Outsiders companion series at the same time, since that will overlap with the early chapters of BB6.

So currently, I'm sitting here with two books half written! Anyway, all efforts currently on finishing Bite Back 4, (Cool Hand), and then a short story for an anthology due out at Christmas, and then back to Bian's Tale 1 (Reach of Lies).
I wish I could write faster! I will discover a trick to it someday. (I hope)(less)

Well, summer has definitely gone!

Writing Progress

I spent a few days this month down at a friend’s house in Teignmouth, a small port in Devon. It’s a place that helps me write because just about the only thing you can hear from his living room is the wind and the seagulls. I used the mornings to write and t Read more of this blog post »

"wow, great read

Very different vampire book, interesting and convoluted. Kept me reading through the day when I should have been doing other things! Amber is interesting, and so are the people around her. Almost a yellowrock vibe, subtle, interesting " Read more of this review »

"First in a series-non-stop action

This was my first book for this author and I loved it; great character development, action, mystery and paranormal. Amber, the main character, is very likeable and relatable other then the turning into a vampire. " Read more of this review »
