YES YOU CAN write a book, here’s how!!!
P
eople often ask me for advise on writing a book. Where should they start? Is there a magic formula?
My advice is no, there is no magic formula, and you can start anywhere. You see when it comes to writing, Nike’s slogan works best, “Just do it!” I know, as a first time writer, you wonder if you are ‘doing it right’, which brings me to my second point.
No one can give you feedback on an idea that is still in your head. So if you want feedback on your work, you have to write it down first! Then you can approach friends and family members and ask them to read it. That way, you will have an idea. I know this can be intimidating – to put up your work to be judged- but unfortunately that is the only way you can get feedback. And of course friends and family might not be objective but they can be the encouragement that you seek.
Also it is easier to write about something that you know, or something that you are passionate about. It’s no use to try to write about the Square Kilometre Array when you hated Physics and anything related to it. Pick a topic that will make writing not seem like a chore, and once you start – you won’t stop!
So, come on, take that first step.

YES YOU CAN publish your favourite recipes!!!
Writing a book does not mean you have to write a story. What about your favourite recipes? What about your grandmother’s remedies for common illnesses? That wealth of knowledge, if you write it down, can be shared with the rest of the world, or only with your circle of friends.
You don’t need to print 1000’s of copies – you can just print a few copies to give as gifts to your family and friends. On the other hand if your friends and family love it, they will tell their friends who will tell their friends…and who knows, you might end up with a best seller. So get started!

Redemption Reader Review 16
Cecilia Mosweu wrote
I’m done. It’s a very good book and a thriller.. my heart goes out to Macy. She didn’t deserve to be treated like that after dedicating her whole life to the family. That was my very own fear of nt having a career wen I grew up. #TheSetUpNovel

Redemption Reader Review 15
Patty Akriel WROTE ON AMAZON: I write the title of this review as a question, because before reading the sequel to the Set Up (Redemption), there was no way in my understanding of causing by one’s own direct actions, the death of one’s own child that can be redeemed. The story is narrated convincingly as Macy whose child is murdered begins to fall apart mentally, emotionally and spiritually. During her grieving, she reaches a stage of denial that transports her away from her life, her mind and she returns to her own story with nothing more than acceptance, sporadically entertaining thoughts of suicide. This process makes the story very believable and where I initially resented her for an almost unforgivable act – allowing years of un-checked & systematic erosion of herself, the character is redeemed to me the reader at this time when she begins to take responsibility for her choices. When she becomes angry again at the “unfairness” and cruelty of her son’s death at this time, she seeks out ways to heal herself through the support of friends and family. The group of women illustrated in Redemption all unveil stories of their own, which endorses their characters but mostly their understanding of supporting each other and building the bond of friendships. I did not for once hope for a forever after ending where Macy reconciles with her husband as I believe that Jim her narcissistic husband, has set believes and behaviour ingrained in his psyche, which would only be unleashed and destructive in the long term. The story is indicative of so many women who blindly succumb to the fairy tale of “happy ever after”, releasing and finally loosing their own essence as women and human beings. I am left believing firmly that we teach people how to treat us, as the character of Macy stepped into this life, never questioning her role, and lulling herself into a false sense of happy. The author throughout tells a story of the “trappings” of marriage and relationships which could take place any where in the world, experienced by any cultural group. #TheSetUpNovel #Redemption
