After much indecision, I'm finally setting the title Finding Jesus as the title of my upcoming novel hopefully out in late September. It is the story of how I find Jesus, literally...

I never had so much kerfuffle about choosing a title. you would think that it would be the easiest of chores regarding the writing of a novel, not in this case. I'm hoping that Finding Jesus is a sufficienty satirical and ironic hook for the tone which is drama and a pinch of comedy as per tradition.

I tend to listen to the same song on an everlasting loop while writing because that specific song seems to fit the writing.

In this case, while writing 'Finding Jesus', I'm listening to
'Saint Behind the Glass' by Los Lobos. It's got a beautiful melody and intriguing lyrics which sort of fit with my new book.

It has finally dawned on me that Finding Jesus is a black comedy. it started out as a drama but quickly has become a comedy drama or a dramedy. I should have known that a little humor would creep its way into the writing.

Another band I have come back to recently is Echo & the Bunnymen and I love this song The Killing Moon... it's one of those rare songs that I can listen to on al loop in the background while writing.

This blog post has got nothing to do with pets, but pet projects, specifically my new book Finding Jesus.
A few readers have assumed that this book is a religious novel... yes and no. Yes, Jesus is a central character and there is an apocalypse, yipee!, however I would like to think that I deal with the subject matter in my own little way. The tone and voice of this novel will be similar to my previous books where I like to inject a little humor of a blackish nature into my fiction. But it is true that this book is a pet project and a topic I have been wanting to do for some time. I have tried to make it accessible for everyone, knowing it probably won't be for everyone, but I'm sure it will be for someone ...
