New Mystery Novelette, "My Emerald Nightmare," Now Available!
The wait is over! My latest mystery novelette, "My Emerald Nightmare," is now available for for only $0.99.
Here's a little bit about the new story:
Cameron Langbridge behaves as if two personalities war for dominance—the adoring husband who dotes on his new bride versus the beast consumed with the need to unleash pain. Olivia never knows who she’ll be confronted with when she walks through the front door. She understands that she should plan her escape or the next beating could be her last, but the thought of spending her life alone stings almost as much as the pain Cameron inflicts.
While Olivia struggles with her decision to leave, she has no idea the heinous plot her husband is devising. Will she uncover his secret before it’s too late… or will she be one more another victim in his deadly game?

Download Kelly Miller's Newest Mystery for Free
I just finished writing a new, emotionally-charged mystery called My Blue Nightmare. And best of all, it's free! Head over to my website at www.kellymillerauthor.com to pick up your copy.
This is the first in a new series of novelettes that will eventually go into a box set called My Nightmare Series. Each story will center around a different color and involve a new psychopath.
Here's what My Blue Nightmare is about: Maggie Hamilton’s brother and sister died shortly after turning sixteen. Cops say their deaths were tragic accidents but Maggie knows better. Two days from now she celebrates her sixteenth birthday, and she believes she’s next of death’s list. Frantic for help, Maggie shows up at the police station, but will anyone believe her twisted story?
Detectives are shocked when Maggie names her siblings’ killer—her own father. Is the girl telling the truth or is she suffering from delusions brought on by the stress of grief? One detective who identifies with this troubled teen vows to investigate the accusation and keep the girl safe. No matter what the cost.
This novelette isn't available on Amazon or anywhere else online. You can only get your copy through my website. Check it out today!

3rd Annual Name a Character Contest
Have you ever wanted to see your name in a published book or short story? Well now's your chance. I've decided that before I concentrate on writing the next installment in the Detective Kate Springer series, I will write a short story that has been haunting me for months. It's called My Blue Nightmare, and it will be the first short story in a boxed set that I'm eventually going to create once at least three stories are finished. I'm already on chapter 3 of My Blue Nightmare so I really need a suggestion for a name that would fit one of my characters!
To enter the 3rd Annual Name a Character Contest, just sign up for my author newsletter. In the form's bottom field suggest the name you'd like to see used in my story. Give me a first name, last name, or both, your name, parent's name or dog's name—it doesn't matter, just suggest a name. I'll post the winning entry on my Facebook page, on my website, and in an upcoming author newsletter.
During the 2nd Annual Name a Character contest held for my latest novel, Splintered, the winning name was Lily Eastin entered by Jennifer Schusterman. I loved the name Lily Eastin so much, she became the major character of the protagonist's mom.
The contest is running now until March 12, 2016. Good luck everyone!

I Won and You Can Win Too!
As I told you in my last blog post, my Kindle Scout campaign went better than I ever dreamed. Not only did the editors at Amazon decide to read my manuscript, they also chose to publish it. Who hoo!
Everyone who voted for "Splintered" already got their advanced copy of the ebook delivered to their email. But don't worry if you didn't get a copy, the book is now available for pre-order on Amazon with a delivery date of January 26.
Since I won my Kindle Scout campaign, I want to give you a chance to win as well. From 1/16/16 - 2/14/16 I'm running a giveaway of an Amazon Kindle Fire (7" display) to one lucky person who posts an honest review of "Splintered" on Amazon.
After you read the book, go to Amazon's "Splintered" sales page and click on the button "Write a Customer Review". Or you can use the link at the back of the ebook which take you directly to the Amazon page to write the review. Once you've written the review, enter the Rafflecopter giveaway. On the form, give me the name the Amazon review is listed under and your email address so I can contact you if you win.
Thanks in advance to everyone who writes a review. Even a sentence or two is extremely helpful. If "Splintered" has a bunch of reviews when it debuts on January 26, it's likely to get more sales.
Good luck everyone! And may the odds be ever in your favor!

Can I Count on Your Vote?
I know all of you have been waiting patiently for a new book, and I want to thank you for your continued support. I'm happy to announce that I've finished my newest mystery, Splintered.
I’m trying to get the book published with Amazon’s imprint, Kindle Press. I’m hoping that by signing a publishing contract with them, I’ll get the one thing I’m in sore need of—visibility. Since thousands of new books are uploaded to Amazon each week, it's extremely hard for an author to gain traction in such a cluttered marketplace. But with Amazon’s marketing machine behind me, this could give my writing career the boost it needs.
Amazon decides which books to publish using their website, Kindle Scout. It’s a unique forum where they ask readers to vote for the titles they’d like to see in print. This voting system helps Amazon gauge the potential popularity of a book.
So I’m asking if you’ll visit Kindle Scout and vote for Splintered by November 17. If my book gets enough votes, it will be marked as Hot Trending. And if that happens, an Amazon editor will read my manuscript and decide if they want to publish it. The best part is that all voters get a FREE e-book copy of Splintered if it’s published!
Stay tuned and I’ll post about my campaign numbers in a couple of weeks.

$.99 Sale for “Deadly Fantasies”
To celebrate the new book cover for my mystery novel, "Deadly Fantasies," I’m running a $.99 sale! From October 1 – 6 you’ll be able to download the ebook off Amazon onto your Kindle or Kindle app.
Even though this is the second book in the series, it’s written as a stand-alone. Here’s what "Deadly Fantasies" is about: A ringing phone at 1:17 am is never a good thing, but Homicide Detective Kate Springer doesn’t have the luxury of ignoring the call. On the other end of the line, a confessor admits to murdering her husband. Dr. Nina Grace needs help, and Kate knows it’s time to repay a debt. No matter the consequences, Kate must fight to keep the investigation from solely focusing on her friend.
Jonathan Grace controls the people in his life like he does his business—with a chokehold. His insatiable appetite for living life on the edge leads him to a club where he’s encouraged to act out his darkest desires. But what happens when one man’s fantasy becomes another’s nightmare?
Did Dr. Nina Grace kill her husband or did Jonathan’s secret life lead to his death? Detective Springer knows that no matter what her friend admitted, she couldn’t be capable of the horrific torture and murder of her husband. But will Kate’s blind loyalty be her downfall?
Thanks for your support and enjoy!
