Janis grew up in and around Darwin and its rural surrounds. At one point she lived by a swamp and really could get crocodiles in her backyard… Along with all sorts of other critters. As this same acreage of a backyard was also her play area, a great respect for nature and its balance was woven into her vast imagination that she then translated into her first stories.

Now living in the Adelaide Hills with her husband, three children - lovingly referred to as ‘Demonic Hordes’ – and several rescue animals that include chickens, rabbits, a cat and three indoor galahs.

When not writing, Janis is a stay at home carer for her children and their neuro-diverse needs, an avid blogger, reviewer, ‘make do and mend’ crafter, and self-proclaimed Haus Frau

Hi everyone!

Yes, I do actually still exist. It’s been a while, right? Well, as the title of this blog post indicates, I’ve basically had bad year of mental health and am finally feeling well enough to start blogging and interacting with people again.

What happened? Did I just one day in 2019 sit down on the couch, and then all of a sudden it was 2020? Well, as much as it does feel that way to me
