Since 2010, Marie has published 21 books in the genres of historical romance, contemporary romance, romantic suspense, paranormal romance, romantic comedy, dramatic fiction, fantasy, science fiction, mystery/thriller, literary fiction and poetry. She also dabbles in graphic design. A blogger on the side, she writes adult fiction, published one story for children, and recently started some YA fiction. She also contributed to several anthologies. Though Marie has standalone titles on the market, there are six current published series, with many others planned.

I fell in love with this fantasy romance right away! The fae king is mysterious and honorable, and he chose his future wife long ago. So it makes sense when he decides to steal her away – and just in time from an unsavory future – to be his bride in a world and kingdom she’s hardly accustomed to. Saelah is a human and, suddenly, she’s thrown into the world of the fae. All she knows about these creatures is that she has been warned away from them, even if she thinks they somehow cannot lie.

Saelah is forced to puzzle out whether the king is a good or bad man, and when he offers her a choice about marrying him, she wastes very little time signing her fate to a total stranger. Better the devil you know in the moment, I guess. Yet, even I found Razrael compelling as a character and a hero. So it’s no wonder Saelah falls for him, and eventually begins to wonder if this is the boy she once knew.

As with any romance, there are forces standing in the way of their happiness. Factions that are willing to betray the king, but they also don’t want a human to be the fae queen. The political fallout is immense and a war is coming for all of them. Can Razrael hang onto his magic long enough to protect his new wife and the kingdom? Can Saelah navigate this fae world, and live on to avoid the growing plots against her? Who can she really trust? With dangers from all sides, who can anyone trust? Heck, I even found the villains worthy opponents, and that’s rare for me.

Additionally, the side story with Oren and Mari makes me desperate to read the sequel, which will be exclusively about them. I also can’t wait to read the prequel, In Love with My Assassin, detailing Oren and Mari’s origin story

Five stars with no hesitance. And Cyan is still adding chapters, in case you like that episodic approach. Seeing no apparent end in sight at the moment, I decided to write a book review now, while I’m thinking about it.
